Roadrunners Travel To Cochran For Double Header

DALTON, Ga. – The Dalton State Men's and Women's soccer teams will look to pick up momentum on the road when they take the pitch against the Middle Georgia State Knights Thursday night in a conference double header Thursday night. The Men's team will attempt to win their second game in a row while the Women's team will try to get back to their dominant play from earlier this season as they look for their first conference win of the season.
 
THE MEN'S TEAM
In their previous game, the Roadrunners snapped a four-game losing streak when Amin Saheb scored the game-winning goal with only a few minutes left to go.

The Roadrunners are currently 5-7-1 overall and 1-3 against conference opponents. They are averaging 1.77 goals per game and have outshot their opponents 145-136 this season. Daniel Valenciano leads the team with 6 goals, 5 assists, 17 points, and 28 shots.
 
THE WOMEN'S TEAM
In their previous game, the Lady Birds fought a tough game against Faulkner University, and while they couldn't capitalize on some key opportunities, their defense was spectacular in preventing the Eagles from scoring. The Lady Birds are currently 6-4-2 overall and 0-3-1 against conference opponents.

Although they've hit a skid in recent games, they have racked up some impressive numbers this season. The Lady Birds have outscored their opponents 43-19 and have out shot their opponents 185-64. Andrea Lopez is leading the team with 9 goals, 20 points, and 26 shots.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
The MGSU Men's team is currently in last place in the SSAC with a record of 0-5 against conference opponents, 1-11-1 overall, and have lost 6 in a row. They have recorded only two goals this season.

The Women's team is currently 6-7-1 overall and 2-3 against conference opponents. They are averaging 2.80 goals per game and 16.6 shots per game.
