Ramos Scores Twice as Dalton State Blanks Point (Ga.), 4-0

WEST POINT, Ga. – Aaron Ramos scored twice as Dalton State earned a 4-0 conference road victory over Point (Ga.) on Saturday at River Boat Stadium in West Point.

FIRST HALF
Point generated the first two opportunities of the match, but Alex Santillian recorded a defensive save on an attempt by Bruno Duarte in the fifth minute before Tomas Calado sent a shot wide.

Dalton State quickly turned defense into offense when Aaron Ramos opened the scoring at the 5:06 mark. The Roadrunners continued to apply pressure and earned three corner kicks during the opening half.

The advantage doubled in the 31st minute when Bruno Conto converted a penalty kick to give Dalton State a 2-0 lead. Jamal Gizir and Jake Coltart added late first-half attempts, but neither found the target as the Roadrunners carried the two-goal advantage into halftime.

SECOND HALF
Dalton State needed just over two minutes after the break to extend its lead. Pedro Silva finished a pass from Jamal Gizir at 47:13, pushing the Roadrunners in front 3-0.

The Roadrunners continued searching for another goal, with Gizir placing an attempt on frame in the 67th minute that was stopped by Point goalkeeper Clemens Budde. At the other end, Bernardo Manzano made second-half saves against Joao Fernandes and Breaux Rusich to preserve the shutout.

Ramos completed the scoring with 49 seconds remaining, finishing an assist from Jesus Huitanda for his second goal of the match and the 4-0 final.
