Box Score Mobile, AL - Dalton State continued its winning ways with a 4-1 defeat of perennial soccer power University of Mobile Thursday night. The Roadrunners remain undefeated in Southern States play. They will play William Carey Saturday in Hattiesburg, MS at 7:30.
Rury Alvarez (Sr, Atlanta, GA) opened the scoring at the 11:50 mark with a 25 yard blast to the far post over the Mobile goalie. Santiago Moore (Fr, Queens, NY) gave the Roadrunners a 2-0 advantage at the 19:06 mark on an assist from Alvarez. Mobile cut the lead to 2-1 prior to intermission for their lone goal of the match. The second half saw Alvarez continue his mastery of free kick opportunities with a shot to the far post at the 66:52 mark. Jose Villalobos (So. Costa Rica) completed the DSC scoring with a header on a corner kick from Dean Foster (Fr, South Africa).
"The University of Mobile is one of the top programs in the NAIA," said head men's coach Karem Daser.  "We played hard for 90 minutes and my team showed discipline and a great work rate. It was exciting to pull off our third conference win and we look forward to playing William Carey on Saturday."
