Hattiesburgh, MS. – William Carey (6-5-2, overall, 1-1-1 SSAC) scored two first period goals Saturday night and hung on to hand our Dalton State Roadrunner soccer team their second loss in three days, 2-1.
Roger Viladomiu scored two first period goals to lead the Crusaders to an early lead.  The first score came with 37:27 left in the period on an assist from Malte Sjorley. Viladomiu's second goal came at 17:09 before intermission with an assist from Pedro Villar Roldan.
It was the Roadrunners who scored early in the second period. Ramiro Guerrero kicked it in at the 43:50 mark. Dalton State had a dozen shots and six shots on goal, but could only score one time. William Carey had seven shots and five shots on goal.
"It was exciting to get our first goal early in the second half," said Coach Kerem Daser. "We battled the next 44 minutes and had some great looks at the goal but could not convert. We need to roll our sleeves up, train hard and get ready for our last home game on Wednesday. Every SSAC match is a war and we need to play hard for 90 minutes in every match."
The Roadrunners (9-4-1, 2-2) will host their final regular season home game of the season Wednesday at Lakeshore Park, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
