OAKVILLE, Ala. - Dalton State's women's cross country squad, coming into the season ranked No. 2 behind William Carey in the SSAC preseason coaches' poll, continued to build on its strong legacy at the conference championship in Danville, Ala.

The Roadrunners finished fourth out of nine teams in the 6K race, with sophomore Kylie Gray leading the way, placing ninth overall with a time of 23:27.59. Gray's effort marked a solid contribution in a highly competitive field.

Freshman standout Allison Batts and junior Madison Todd ran closely behind in 19th (24:53.10) and 20th (24:53.15), respectively, helping maintain momentum near the team's core scoring group. Senior Marlene Páez (22nd, 25:06.91) and sophomore Kate Girard (28th, 25:21.86) rounded out the top five scoring positions, securing Dalton State's fourth-place finish.

Though Taylor Harris also made a personal breakthrough—crossing in 29:08.12 for a PR—the team fell just short of the podium against perennial foes William Carey (Miss.), UT Southern (Tenn.), and Blue Mountain Christian (Miss.).
