DALTON, GA. – The #2-ranked Dalton State Roadrunners picked up their first conference win in dominant fashion on Wednesday night, beating Brewton Parker (Ga.) 8-0, scoring 7 of 8 goals in the 2nd half. HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF
  • (1-0) DS: The Birds got things started in the 16' following a cross pass from Josh Ramos, leading to a Jack Stainrod header, giving him his 10th score of the year.
SECOND HALF
  • (2-0) DS: In the 49', DSC began their 2nd half scoring frenzy led by Filemon Quintero, thanks to Josh Ramos' 2nd assist of the night.
  • (3-0) DS: The Bird's hot streak started to take shape in the 54' following another goal from Jack Stainrod with assists from Filemon Quintero and Gavin Taylor.
  • (4-0) DS: The Roadrunners continued to extend their lead in the 73' initiated by Jack Brown, who received a strong misdirected header, giving a 1-on-1 opportunity with the Baron defender to find the back of the net.
  • (5-0) DS: Instead of a score, this time Jack Brown starts another fast break, finding Jimston St. Louis, who placed the ball perfectly for Jip van den Essen, extending the lead even further in the 78'.
  • (6-0) DS: With just 11 minutes left, DSC's night was far from over. In the 79', Jip van den Essen once again found the promised land, assisted by Josh Ramos, which would be his 3rd and final of the match.
  • (7-0) DS: Shortly after, Jimson St. Louis placed a perfectly located pass, avoiding the off-sides penalty, leaving Jip van den Essen an open look to send the ball home.
  • (8-0) DS: All scoring was capped off in the 86' minute when Dalton State's Jimson St. Louis was awarded a free kick, securing the victory.
