PULASKI, TENN – The Dalton State Men's and Women's soccer teams will travel to Pulaski to take the pitch against Martin Methodist. It's been a tough regular season for both teams but each will look to end their respective seasons on a high note.
MEN'S
In the previous game, the Roadrunners put up a tough fight against the Bethel Wildcats but fell in the end 4-1. In their last outing with Martin Methodist, the Roadrunners overcame a 0-2 deficit in the first half of the SSAC quarterfinal match. They finished with a 6-5 win that relied on penalty kicks for the decision. The Roadrunners are currently 3-4 in the SACC and 7-8-1 and have qualified for the SACC Tournament. Junior
Daniel Valenciano, who has had a stellar season and is the team's reigning scoring leader, was recently honored as the SSAC Offensive Player of the Week.
WOMEN'S
The Lady Birds opened their season 4-0 which included some impressive blowouts but they have suffered a string of losses and ties this last month. The last time they faced Martin Methodist, the Roadrunners were outmatched for a 7-0 loss. The Lady Birds are 0-5-2 in the SSAC and 6-6-3 overall.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
The Martin Methodist Men's team is currently 4-3 in the SACC and 9-7 overall and has qualified for a spot in the SSAC Tournament. The Women's team is 7-1 in the SSAC and 14-1-1 overall. They are ranked #2 in the SSAC and will be playing in the SSAC Tournament.
