Box Score Mount Vernon, GA - The men's soccer team began the 2016 Southern States Athletic Conference season with a 4-1 victory over host Brewton-Parker on Thursday. The Roadrunners (6-0-1, 1-0) scored two goals in each half to secure the victory. Freshman Daniel Valenciano scored twice and added an assist on sophomore Emmanuel Olusanya's first half goal. Senior CJ Moore and Valenciano tallied in the second period to finish the scoring. Dalton State had assists from freshman Santiago Moore (2), Valenciano and sophomore Dean Foster.
"I was very happy with our work rate and we looked dangerous in the attacking third," said head coach Karem Daser. "Our back four and defensive midfield were rock solid," said Daser.
The men and women will play this Saturday at Lakeshore Park in conference battles with Middle Georgia. The women's match will start at 5:00.
