Santiago Moore took a pass from captain
Jordan Man Tuesday night and drove on in to score the game's only goal as Dalton State opened the season with a 1-0 home win over Florida Memorial College.
Â
"The team that we played is very technical," said Dalton State Coach Kerem Daser. "They're a great team and they were better than us today, but we found a way to win. We're young, but this game will prepare us for the conference."
Â
"It was a team effort," Moore said after the game. "We just stuck in there. It wasn't opening up for us in the first half. They had a lot more chances than us."
Â
Moore credits a half-time talk by Coach Daser for helping to turn things around. "We had four of five chances and couldn't put it in. Then Jordan got me that ball and I was able to put it in."
