Cole Thornton Named SSAC Men's Cross Country Scholar Athlete



MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Cole Thornton of Dalton State (Ga.) has been named the 2016 SSAC Men's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete, the league office announced Tuesday.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore eligibility, have a 3.5 GPA and must have competed in 50% of competitions.

  •         One of 12 named to the 2016 SSAC All-Academic Team
  •         Turned in a season-best time of 26:26 at the NCAA-II Sand Shark Invitation to place 27th
  •         Placed 27th at the 2016 SSAC Championship with a time of 29:59
  •         Has amazingly CLEP'd 33 hours worth of course work.
