SSAC Cross Country Championship Times Moved Back

DALTON, Ga. - Times for the SSAC Cross Country Championships being held at Grove Level North Park in Varnell, GA have been moved back one hour to allow for teams to do pre-race prep in the morning light. The women's race will now start at 9:00 a.m., with the men's to follow at 9:45 a.m.

"This was something we felt had to be done," said DS Assistant Athletic Director Erik Simpson. "In past years, the cross country championship has been held in the Central Time zone at 8:00 a.m., which is 9:00 a.m. Eastern. With time change not taking effect until Sunday, it would mean that runners will be preping on the course in the dark. Moving the race back one hour will allow the competitors to get pre-race conditioning in when daylight will be breaking through."

Everyone is welcome to come out and support the Roadrunners. Admission is free for students and the public.
