Sports Medicine-Megan Kennedy

Megan Kennedy

Megan joined the Roadrunners Sports Medicine Staff in 2023 after being at the University of Denver.

She has wanted to be an athletic trainer since she was in high school because she had a desire to help those going through injuries and challenges to get back to doing what they love most.

Megan obtained her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science in 2020 and her masters degree in Athletic Training in 2021 both from Colorado Mesa University. As an athletic training student, she worked with a variety of sports including football, men's basketball, men's wrestling, rugby, and men's and women’s swim and dive. Completing her final year, she was a Student Athletic Trainer at DU working with men’s lacrosse, women’s basketball, and women’s gymnastics.

After being certified, Megan spent two summers traveling the country with the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps on their summer tours as the head athletic trainer. She also spent one season as a certified intern at the University of Denver working with men's and women’s swim and dive team.

She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in
Sport and Performance Psychology from National University. She also the 2026 recipient of the Doug Boersma New Horizon Award from the National Athletic Trainers Association, which honors one collegiate athletic trainer annually for emerging leadership and impact on campus, in the profession and in the community.
