Knight Earns Top-10 Finish as No. 3 Dalton State Places 12th at Innisbrook

PALM HARBOR, Fla. – John Brady Knight earned a top-10 individual finish as No. 3 Dalton State placed 12th at The Invite at Innisbrook on the par-71 Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club on Monday and Tuesday.
 
The Roadrunners recorded rounds of 294, 309 and 296 to finish the 54-hole tournament at 899, 47-over par. Dalton State closed with a 12-over 296, improving by 13 strokes from the second round. Knight led the Roadrunners throughout the event, tying for 10th at 4-over 217 after carding rounds of 69, 78 and 70.
 
#1 Keiser won the team championship at 9-over par, finishing eight strokes ahead of runner-up #T-5 Reinhardt (Ga.). #9 Coastal Georgia completed the top three at 26-over.

  • 1st – #1 Keiser (Fla.): 861 (+9)
  • 2nd – #T-5 Reinhardt (Ga.): 869 (+17)
  • 3rd – #9 Coastal Georgia: 878 (+26)
  • 4th – #T-5 Webber International (Fla.): 881 (+29)
  • 5th – #16 Blue Mountain (Miss.): 884 (+32)
ROUND 1
No. 3 Dalton State opened tournament play on the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club with a team score of 10-over 294 in the first round.
 
John Brady Knight led the Roadrunners with a 2-under-par 69. Knight started quickly, recording four birdies over his first eight holes to make the turn at 4-under before finishing with the team's only subpar round.
 
Scott Frisby followed with a 3-over 74, while Joao Carvalho carded a 4-over 75. Jake Eason completed Dalton State's four counting scores with a 5-over 76. Oliver Crowley posted an 80.
Competing as an individual, Joe Getley recorded a 4-over 75. Getley's score did not count toward Dalton State's team total.
 
ROUND 2
Dalton State posted a team score of +25, 309, bringing the Roadrunners' 36-hole total to 603.
 
Scott Frisby, Joao Carvalho and Jake Eason paced Dalton State in the second round, with each golfer shooting a 6-over 77. Frisby made the turn at 1-over before finishing with a back-nine 40. Carvalho recorded four birdies during the round, while Eason used three birdies on the back nine to finish with an inward 36.
 
John Brady Knight and Oliver Crowley each added a 7-over 78. One of the two 78s served as Dalton State's fourth counting score.
 
Joe Getley, playing as an individual, shot a 10-over 81. Getley's round was separate from the Roadrunners' team score.

ROUND 3
DS recorded a 12-over-par 296 in the final round on the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club. The Roadrunners finished the tournament in 12th place with a 54-hole total of 899 at 47-over-par.
 
John Brady Knight led Dalton State with a 1-under 70, recording an eagle on the par-5 first hole and a birdie on the par-3 17th. Knight finished tied for 10th individually at 4-over 217 following rounds of 69, 78 and 70.
 
Jake Eason added a 3-over 74 after closing his round with a 1-under 35 on the back nine. Scott Frisby and Oliver Crowley each carded a 5-over 76 to complete the Roadrunners' counting scores. Joao Carvalho posted a 6-over 77.
 
Eason and Frisby tied for 52nd at 14-over 227, while Carvalho finished tied for 68th at 16-over 229. Crowley placed 85th at 21-over 234.
 
Joe Getley, competing as an individual for Dalton State, shot a 9-over 80 in the final round and finished tied for 93rd at 23-over 236. Getley's score did not count toward the Roadrunners' team total.
