Women's Golf-2026 Eagle's Open Champions

No. 3 Dalton State Claims Tournament Title At Marietta City Club

MARIETTA, Ga. — #3 Dalton State steadily improved throughout the tournament to secure the team championship in the Eagle's Open at Marietta City Club on Monday and Tuesday
 
The Lady Roadrunners posted rounds of 311, 301 and 298 to finish at 58-over-par with a 54-hole total of 910. Dalton State lowered its score in each round, improving by 13 strokes from the opening round to the final round.
 
Reese Day led the counting lineup in third place at 13-over-par, while Louise Krone tied for fourth at 14-over. Elin Gullbrandsson finished sixth at 16-over, Mady Simpson placed seventh at 18-over and Aitana Sevilla finished ninth at 23-over.
 
Susana Calvar competed as an individual and placed runner-up at 9-over-par.
 
FINAL TEAM STANDINGS
  • 1st – #3 Dalton State (Ga.): 910 (+58)
  • 2nd – Bethel (Tenn.): 957 (+105)
  • 3rd – Midway (Ky.): 970 (+118)
ROUND 1
Dalton State opened the tournament with a 27-over-par 311. Day and Gullbrandsson led the Lady Birds with matching rounds of 77. Day played the front nine in 38 and the back nine in 39, while Gullbrandsson also recorded nine-hole scores of 38 and 39.
 
Krone contributed a 78 after making the turn in 43 and closing with a 1-under-par 35 on the back nine. Simpson supplied the fourth counting score with a 79, including a 37 on the inward nine. Sevilla shot an 80. Competing as an individual, Calvar carded a 77 with a front-nine 40 and a back-nine 37.
 
ROUND 2
The Roadrunners improved by 10 strokes during the second round, posting a 17-over-par 301. Day paced the team with a 1-over-par 72. Day opened with a 37 before playing the back nine in even-par 35.
 
Krone followed with a 74, highlighted by a 1-under-par 34 on the back nine. Simpson added a 76, and Gullbrandsson completed Dalton State's counting scores with a 79, with Sevilla recording an 82.
 
Calvar worked the course, to match Day's 72. Calvar turned in 35 and completed the back nine in 37 to move to 7-over-par through two rounds.
 
ROUND 3
Dalton State produced its best performance of the tournament in the final round, recording a 14-over-par 298 to close out the team victory.
 
Gullbrandsson led the way with a 2-over-par 73. After shooting 38 on the front nine, Gullbrandsson closed with an even-par 35 that included birdies on Nos. 12 and 15.
 
Sevilla delivered a 74, improving by eight strokes from the second round. Krone added a 75, and Simpson posted a second consecutive 76 to complete the team total. Day closed with a 77.
 
Calvar finished the individual competition with a 73, playing the front nine in 37 and the back nine in 36.
