MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Reese Day continued her impressive run of recognition Tuesday when the Southern States Athletic Conference named the Dalton State sophomore its Women's Golfer of the Week for the second consecutive week.
 
The latest honor follows another strong performance from Day at the Lady Roadrunner Fall Invitational, played Oct. 5-6 at Dalton Golf and Country Club. The Dalton, Ga., native tied for fifth in a 96-player field after recording a 10-over-par total of 226. She posted rounds of 78, 73 and 75 to finish seven strokes behind the tournament's co-medalists.
 
Day's performance helped No. 3 Dalton State finish fourth in the 17-team field. The Lady Roadrunners recorded rounds of 303, 307 and 310 for a 54-hole total of 920, finishing behind #6 Indiana Wesleyan, #1 SCAD (Ga.) and #13 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.).
 
The repeat conference recognition comes one week after Day swept the SSAC and NAIA Women's Golfer of the Week awards following her victory at the Invite at Innisbrook.
 
Day captured her first collegiate individual championship at Innisbrook with a one-under-par total of 212. After an opening-round 76, she posted consecutive rounds of 68 to win by one stroke as the tournament's only player to finish under par. Her performance also helped the Lady Roadrunners secure the team championship by 10 strokes.
 
Day, a graduate of Northwest Whitfield High School, has now collected two consecutive SSAC Women's Golfer of the Week awards and one NAIA national weekly honor.
