FRISCO, Texas – Dalton State women's golf continued to pair championship-level play with academic excellence as six Lady Roadrunners were recognized among the nation's top scholar-athletes for the 2025-26 season.

Six Dalton State golfers were recognized among the Women's Golf Coaches Association's 2025-26 All-American Scholars, continuing the Roadrunners' strong tradition of academic success. The WGCA announced 1,551 women's collegiate golfers nationwide for All-American Scholar recognition, one of the most demanding academic honors in college athletics.

Dalton State's WGCA All-American Scholar selections from the NAIA list were Susana Calvar, Elin Gullbrandsson, Tylah James, Jia Kataria, Ella Ahlqvist, and Tara Phipps.

To qualify, student-athletes must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, remain amateur competitors, stay on the team roster through the conclusion of the season, and compete in at least 50 percent of the team's regularly scheduled rounds through the conference championship.

Susana Calvar earned WGCA All-American Scholar recognition as a freshman, giving Dalton State one of its young academic standouts on the national list. Calvar was also part of a freshman class that helped strengthen the Lady Roadrunners' lineup, earning All-Freshman Team recognition from the SSAC during a season that highlighted Dalton State's depth and future.

Elin Gullbrandsson joined Calvar as a freshman WGCA All-American Scholar for the Lady Birds. Her selection added another first-year name to Dalton State's academic recognition, and she also earned SSAC All-Freshman Team honors, further underscoring the immediate impact of the Roadrunners' newcomers.

Tylah James was recognized as a WGCA All-American Scholar as a sophomore, continuing a strong all-around season for Dalton State. James also earned Second-Team All-Conference honors and Athletic Solutions All-Academic Team recognition, reflecting her value to the Roadrunners both in competition and in the classroom.

Jia Kataria added WGCA All-American Scholar recognition to one of the most decorated seasons in Dalton State history. A junior, Kataria was also named conference Player of the Year and earned First-Team All-Conference honors, making her one of the Lady Roadrunners' leading examples of high-level achievement on the course and academically.

Tara Phipps earned WGCA All-American Scholar honors as a senior, closing the season with another major academic distinction. Phipps also received Second-Team All-Conference honors, Athletic Solutions All-Academic Team recognition, and a spot on the SSAC Champions of Character Team, highlighting her performance, leadership, and commitment to the student-athlete standard.

Ella Ahlqvist earned WGCA All-American Scholar recognition for Dalton State, adding to a strong season of academic and athletic honors. Ahlqvist also earned Athletic Solutions All-Academic Team honors from the SSAC and was named Second-Team All-Conference, giving the Roadrunners another golfer who contributed at a high level in the classroom and on the course.

The recognition continues a strong year for Dalton State women's golf, which swept the SSAC's top individual conference honors with Jim McGrew named Coach of the Year, Kataria selected as Player of the Year, and Reese Day earning Freshman of the Year.

With national academic recognition, conference academic awards, all-conference selections, and character honors, the Roadrunners continued to demonstrate the program's standard of excellence across every part of the student-athlete experience.
