DALTON, Ga. – Dalton State men's golfers Joe Getley and Barrett Loftis have been named 2025-26 NAIA Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Monday.
 
Getley and Loftis were among 83 NAIA student-athletes from 30 schools recognized for their combined achievement in the classroom and on the course. Dalton State was one of the NAIA programs represented on the national list, with both Roadrunners earning the academic honor.
 
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar recognition, student-athletes must be sophomores, juniors or seniors academically and athletically, participate in at least 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds, carry a stroke average under 78.0 in NAIA competition and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. Recipients must also be of high moral character and in good standing at their college or university.
 
Loftis continued to be a steady contributor for the Roadrunners during his sophomore season, competing in six tournaments and 16 rounds for Dalton State in 2025-26. The Augusta, Ga., native posted a 78.81 scoring average, highlighted by a season-low round of 72, while also recording tournament lows of 146 over 36 holes and 238 over 54 holes. Loftis also earned recognition off the course as a member of the SSAC All-Academic Team, adding to a strong sophomore campaign for the Business Management major.
 
Getley put together a strong sophomore season for Dalton State, appearing in eight tournaments and playing 25 rounds for the Roadrunners in 2025-26. The Amersham, England, native finished the year with a 77.44 scoring average and added one top-10 finish, while carding a season-best round of 71. Getley also posted low tournament totals of 145 over 36 holes, 220 over 54 holes, and 312 over 72 holes, and was named to the SSAC All-Academic Team for his work in the classroom.
 
Texas Wesleyan led all NAIA institutions with seven honorees, while Coastal Georgia, Northwestern College, OUAZ, Reinhardt, Texas A&M-San Antonio, USAO and William Carey each had at least four recipients.
 
The Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar program is administered by the GCAA, the professional organization for men's collegiate golf coaches. Established in 1958, the GCAA supports coaches across NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA divisions while recognizing academic, athletic and civic achievements by coaches and student-athletes.
