WEST POINT, Miss. — No. 3 Dalton State battled a deep NAIA field on Monday and Tuesday at the BMCU Spring Classic and left Old Waverly with another podium result behind a composed closing round highlighted by Sara Burger's even-par 72, while Reese Day capped her week as the individual with a confident finish. The 54-hole event was hosted by Blue Mountain Christian.

  • 2nd – #3 Dalton State (Ga.): 939 (+75)
  • 3rd – #10 Loyola (La.): 954 (+90)
ROUND 1
Dalton State opened with a steady team effort to plant itself inside the top tier of the leaderboard. Jia Kataria set an early tone with a composed card that featured controlled golf through Old Waverly's demanding par-4s, while Sara Burger added a counting score built on disciplined tee-to-green play. Tara Phipps and Ella Ahlqvist rounded out the opening-day counters, giving the Roadrunners four solid numbers on a course that rewarded patience more than aggression. Competing as an individual, Reese Day delivered a steady opening round.

ROUND 2
The Lady Roadrunners used a cleaner middle stretch to climb into the hunt. Tylah James provided a needed spark with timely birdies on the front, Kataria continued to stack pars to anchor the lineup, and Burger again posted a counting number. Ahlqvist delivered steady production that kept the drop score manageable, while Phipps fought to the finish to protect the team total. Reese Day tightened her card in Round 2, limiting stress with improved positioning off the tee and a lower error rate on the inward nine

ROUND 3
DS produced one of the cleaner team rounds of the tournament to secure a podium finish. Sara Burger led the charge with an even-par 72, navigating Old Waverly's closing stretch with poise. Kataria and James supplied compact cards with few mistakes, Ahlqvist contributed another counter, and Phipps battled down the stretch as the drop. Reese Day matched the final-day urgency and signed for a +4.
