Roadrunners Blitz No. 19 William Carey With 57-Point Second Half

DALTON, Ga. – Dalton State erupted after halftime to stun No. 19 William Carey, 100–82, on Saturday afternoon at Bandy Gym, riding a dominant paint presence and a barrage from deep to hand the Crusaders just their second loss of the season.

RECAP
FIRST HALF
William Carey set the tone early, surging to an eight-point advantage midway through the opening period before Dalton State clawed back behind Qualen Pettus and Varun Danak. The Crusaders' efficiency at the line (11-of-12) and a late burst from Malik Franklin had the visitors up 44–43 at the break.

SECOND HALF
The game flipped after intermission. Dalton State poured in 57 second-half points, shooting 52.8% from the field and a sizzling 7-for-11 from three. Sparked by sharpshooter Miles Ceballos (16 after halftime, 4-for-4 from three) and steady interior work from Omarion Smith and Danak, the Roadrunners stretched the margin to as many as 19. A late Smith dunk and a Ceballos dagger three in the closing seconds punctuated the 100–82 win. It was a chippy half that featured multiple technicals, but Dalton State stayed poised and pulled away.
