Roadrunners Soar: Dalton State Blanks Florida College 15-0 In Offensive Showcase


DALTON, Ga. - Dalton State delivered a commanding performance at Dalton Stadium on Thursday night, defeating Florida College 15-0. The Lady  Roadrunners controlled every aspect of the game, out-shooting the Falcons 61-0 and recording 11 corner kicks to none.
 
FIRST HALF
Dalton State wasted no time asserting dominance. Lexi Lyon opened the scoring in the 6th minute with an unassisted strike. The goals came in waves, with Gabriela Fernandes (assist by Lyon) and Abigail Aman (assists by Amy Wearing and Tania Dominguez) adding to the tally by the 12th minute.
 
By halftime, the Roadrunners had built an 8-0 lead, thanks to additional goals from Ria Cox, Andrea Dominguez, Carol Anne Giannamore, and Amelia Jesiak. Lyon scored twice in the opening half, showcasing her attacking prowess.
SECOND HALF
The offensive onslaught continued after the break. Carol Anne Giannamore and Aoife Saunders struck early in the second half, followed by goals from Tania Dominguez, Amelia Jesiak, and Andrea Dominguez. Saunders converted a penalty kick in the 64th minute, and Lyon capped the scoring with her third goal of the match just seconds later.
 
Dalton State's relentless attack left Florida College's goalkeeper Hannah Collett under siege, facing 35 shots on goal and making 20 saves in a valiant effort.
