Ebrahimi Delivers As #1 Dalton State Stays Perfect With 1–0 Win Over Union (Ky.)


DALTON, Ga. — In a tightly contested battle at Dalton Stadium, the top-ranked Dalton State Roadrunners edged Union Commonwealth 1–0 to remain unbeaten at 4–0 on the season.
 
FIRST HALF RECAP
The opening 45 minutes were a tactical chess match, with both teams probing for control. Dalton State managed four shots and earned a corner kick from Vinicius Novo, while Bernardo Manzano made two crucial saves to keep the scoreboard clean. Union Commonwealth applied pressure late in the half, but the Roadrunners' back line held firm, sending the match into halftime knotted at 0–0.
 
SECOND HALF RECAP
Dalton State wasted no time after the break. Just 88 seconds into the second half, Sohail Ebrahimi pounced on a loose ball and fired home the game-winner at the 46:28 mark. The Roadrunners ramped up their attack, outshooting Union Commonwealth 8–7 and earning five corners. Nestor Mendez took over in goal and delivered three saves, including a dramatic penalty stop in the final minutes to secure the shutout and Dalton State's fifth straight win.
