Second-Half Surge Powers Roadrunners Past Point, 97–84

WEST POINT, Ga. – Dalton State used blistering second-half shooting and a commanding effort on the glass to pull away from Point (Ga.), winning 97–84 on Wednesday night at West Point Gymnasium. The Roadrunners shot 65.5% after halftime and finished +18 on the boards (50–32) to close out the SSAC matchup

RECAP
FIRST HALF
Dalton State set the tone early with Varun Danak scoring in transition, including a fast-break dunk, to stake a quick lead, and the Roadrunners' paint touches kept them in front despite a cold 1-for-12 start from three. Dalton State led 28–18 before Point trimmed the margin, but the Roadrunners took a 42–36 advantage into the locker room behind 46.3% shooting and 28 first-half rebounds. Omarion Smith paced the opening frame with 11 points and four blocks, while Danak added 10.

SECOND HALF
Point opened the half with a Tanner Higgins three to make it 42–39 and later pulled within one at 42–41, but Dalton State answered with consecutive scores from Smith and Danak, then a triple from Qualen Pettus to rebuild an eight-point cushion. Raylon Barrion's three and a pair of treys from Tyshan Kelly helped weather a Point push to 56–54, and a burst from Devin Geiger, three layups in a five-minute span, re-established control. Pettus' second three at 6:28 and a late free-throw/field-goal flurry pushed the lead to as many as 19; Dalton State closed it out 97–84.
