Late Threes Trip Up Roadrunners In 73–72 Heartbreaker vs. Point

DALTON, Ga. – Dalton State led by five with 22 seconds to play, but Point's Kaden Paul drilled back-to-back triples, at :18 and :04, to flip the result and hand the Roadrunners a 73–72 loss on Coach O Court.

RECAP
FIRST HALF
Point opened with a 9–4 burst before Dalton State steadied behind Jamori McDougald's early three and a balanced stretch from Varun Danak and Ja'Ron Briggs to pull even at 14–14. The Skyhawks regained control late, fueled by Brandon Kincaid's interior scoring and Tanner Higgins' perimeter shooting, to take a 41–37 lead into halftime

SECOND HALF
Dalton State punched back out of the locker room: Danak scored inside, McDaniel splashed a wing three at 17:42, and a Pettus jumper plus free throw at 15:11 nudged the Roadrunners in front. A 10–2 run capped by McDaniel's jumper at 5:43 pushed the margin to the team's largest lead of eight (68–60). Point clawed within four on a Cahlib Edwards three at 1:10, but Dalton State still held a 72–67 edge after Danak split at the line with :22 left. That's when Paul stunned the crowd, burying a deep three with :18 to go, then cashing in again with :04 left after a turnover on the inbound, to give Point the 73–72 win.
