Dalton State Falls Short in Thriller Against Brewton-Parker, 74–71

DALTON, Ga. – In a hard-fought matchup at Bandy Gym, No. 10 Dalton State battled back from an early deficit but couldn't overcome Brewton-Parker's hot shooting, dropping a 74–71 decision in Southern States Athletic Conference play. The Roadrunners move to 6–1 overall and 2–1 in league action.

RECAP
FIRST HALF
Dalton State started strong with back-to-back threes from Ja'Ron Briggs, but Brewton-Parker quickly answered behind Tommy Tisdale's perimeter shooting. The Barons built a 10-point lead midway through the half, fueled by Tisdale's 14 first-half points and Jayden Hill's presence on the boards. Dalton State struggled from the line (8-of-19) and trailed 40–35 at the break despite Qualen Pettus' 13 points and Varun Danak's inside play.

SECOND HALF
The Roadrunners came out firing after halftime, shooting 53.6% from the field. Danak dominated the paint with a perfect 4-for-4 second-half performance, while Raylan Barrion sparked the offense with 11 points after the break. Dalton State tied the game at 53 on Barrion's three-pointer with 13:35 remaining, but Brewton-Parker answered with clutch buckets from Hill and Jakobe Jones. A late technical foul and missed free throws hurt Dalton State's comeback bid, and despite a last-second jumper by Miles Ceballos, the Roadrunners fell by three.
