#1 Dalton State Dominates Senior Day with 3-1 Win Over Brewton-Parker


DALTON, Ga. — Dalton State men's soccer celebrated Senior Day in style, defeating Brewton-Parker (Ga.) 3-1 at Dalton Stadium. The Roadrunners improved to 9-1-2 overall and 4-1-1 in SSAC play, while Brewton-Parker fell to 1-11-0 (0-6-0 SSAC). Senior forward Sergej Misic stole the show with a hat trick, powering Dalton State to its ninth win of the season.
 
FIRST HALF
Dalton State controlled possession early, firing 11 shots in the opening 45 minutes. After several near misses, Misic broke through in the 27th minute, scoring unassisted to give the Roadrunners a 1-0 lead. Brewton-Parker managed just one shot in the first half as Dalton State's defense and goalkeeper Nestor Mendez kept them quiet. The half ended with Dalton State ahead 1-0 and firmly in control.
 
SECOND HALF
The Roadrunners wasted no time extending their lead after halftime. Misic converted a penalty kick in the 53rd minute and added his third goal just two minutes later, completing the hat trick and pushing the score to 3-0. Brewton-Parker's frustration boiled over, resulting in multiple yellow cards and three red cards late in the match.
 
Despite being down a man, the Barons found a consolation goal in the 79th minute through Lazar Milosavljevic, but Dalton State closed out the 3-1 victory without further drama.
