#13 Roadrunners Slam Barons


DALTON, Ga. – In another display of offensive prowess, #13 Dalton State defeated Brewton-Parker (Ga.) 119-87 and, in the process, set a new school record for points in a game in SSAC play at Bandy Gym on Saturday afternoon.

Dalton State set the pace from the beginning, leading 56-42 at halftime before expanding their advantage in the second half. Matt Compas led the scoring for the Roadrunners with a game-high 25 points. Other notable contributions came from Qualen Pettus, with 19 points and 9 rebounds, and Antonio Lewis, who added 18 points to the team's tally. Omarion Smith's defensive efforts shone through with 3 steals and 17 points.
 
Tisdale III scored 22 points for Brewton-Parker, with Dre Burroughs adding 16 points and six rebounds. Sam Faraday-Bensley scored 17 points as Ferlin Joseph Jr. impressively combined 13 points with nine rebounds.
 
One of the key moments was the Roadrunners stretching their lead to 35 points in the second half, an indication of their dominance throughout the game. In addition, the Birds set a school record for team assists in a game with 34. It's the second time this season that the Roadrunners have reset the team assist record.
 
THE REST OF THE STORY
#13 Dalton State (Ga.) improves to (16-2 overall, 10-0 SSAC) with the win and ties the school record for consecutive wins with 14. Brewton-Parker (Ga.) falls to (6-13 overall, 2-7 SSAC) with the loss.

#13 Dalton State looks to continue their offensive explosion when they host new SSAC member ABAC (Ga.) on Thursday, January 23. Tip-Off at Bandy Gym is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
