#2 Roadrunners Come From Behind To Beat Rocky Mountain (Mont.)


LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – #2-ranked Dalton State fought from behind for the first time during the 2024 season and responded like a top-ranked squad with a 2-1 victory over Rocky Mountain (Mont.) in the Grizzly Classic in Lawrenceville on Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF
  • (1-0 RM) RM: Igor Soares got Rocky Mountain on the board first in the 25' with an assisted ball from Espoir Mayele.
SECOND HALF THE REST OF THE STORY
#2 Dalton State (Ga.) improves to (4-0-0 overall) on the season with the win, while Rocky Mountain (Mont.) falls to (0-1-0 overall) with the loss. Shots were even at 3-3 in the first half, with DS catching the advantage in the second half at 7-3 to hold a 10-6 overall.
 
Nicolas Leite surrendered his first goal of the season, but stopped two shots in the second half to hold the Battlin' Bears scoreless. Leonardo Seixas gets his third score of the year with Mizuki Saika netting his first.
 
UP NEXT
The #2 Roadrunners will travel to Lawrenceville again on Monday, September 2, for Day Two of the Grizzley Classic, where they will face Bryan (Tenn.). Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
