#2 Dalton State Tames Lions 4-0


LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The #2 Roadrunners scored early and never looked back as they controlled the match from start to finish in a 4-0 over Bryan (Tenn.) on the final day of the Grizzly Classic in Lawrenceville on Monday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF
  • (1-0 DS) DS: It to just 54 seconds for the Birds to get on the board as Leonardo Seixas scored for an early 1-0 lead on an assist from Jack Stainrod.
  • (2-0 DS) DS: Stainrod increased the lead to two goals in the 5' with an unassisted goal of his own.
  • (3-0 DS) DS: Kazuma Ishizuka made it a three-goal game in the 11' when he beat the Lion defense.
SECOND HALF
  • (4-0 DS) DS: Stainrod put the icing on the cake in the 67' with Jack Brown assisting.
THE REST OF THE STORY
#2 Dalton State (Ga.) improves to (5-0-0 overall) on the season with the win, while Bryan (Tenn.) falls to (0-4-0 overall) with the loss. Jack Stainrod had a solid stat line with two goals and one assist. Leonardo Seixas banged him his fourth goal in as many games to open the action.
 
Kazuma Ishizuka collected a goal during the score fest, with Jack Brown adding an assist. Nicolas Leite nabbed another clean sheet in goal for the Birds.
 
UP NEXT
It will be a long break for #2 Dalton State, but they will need it for their next matchup as they welcome #19 Cumberland (Tenn.) to Dalton for a ranked non-conference clash. Kickoff on Friday, September 13 from Dalton Stadium is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
