Dalton State Draws With Sewanee


SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Lady Roadrunners hit the road again, this time to Sewanee, Tenn. to take on the Lady Tigers and left with a 1-1 draw against the NCAA DIII member at Puett Field on Friday evening.
 
 HOW IT HAPPENED
 FIRST HALF 
  • (1-0 SEW) SEW: Brianna Fee scored the first goal of the match in the 29' with an assist from Kylene Monaghan.
  • (1-1 T) DS: Tania Dominguez collected her first collegiate goal in the 40' to tie the match at 1-1.
SECOND HALF 
  • NO SCORING
THE REST OF THE STORY
Dalton State (Ga.) stands at (1-0-1 overall) with the draw. NCAA DIII members do not start their season until after Labor Day so Sewanee will not count this match. Tania Dominguez gets her first collegiate goal in the match. Brooke Alvarez snatched three saves in net for the Lady Birds.
 
The Lady Roadrunners outshot the Lady Tigers 11-10 overall and 6-4 on goal. The DS defense also fended off 8 corner kick attempts from Sewanee.
 
UP NEXT
DS returns to home pitch on Sunday, September 1 when they host Milligan (Tenn.). Kickoff from Dalton Stadium is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
