#5 Birds Take Care Of Business Against Brescia (Ky.)


DALTON, Ga. – #5-ranked Dalton State put together an offensive onslaught, racking up 6 goals in a 6-0 win over Brescia (Ky.) in the Dalton Classic at Dalton Stadium on Thursday night.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF
  • (1-0 DS) DS: Kazuma Ishizuka sent a ball into the box that Giovanni Poilero put a head on and into the back of the net in the 11'.
  • (2-0 DS) DS: Jack Stainrod made it a two-score match in the 15' with an unassisted goal.
SECOND HALF
  • (3-0 DS) DS: Ishizuka banked another assist in the 50' when he found Antonio Bittencourt in the box off a corner kick.
  • (4-0 DS) DS: Leonardo Seixas snagged his second goal of the season in the 58'.
  • (5-0 DS) DS: Jip van den Essen notched goal number one of the year in the 62'.
  • (6-0 DS) DS: Nicolas Cuna came into the match late and quickly made an impact with the final goal of the night in the 70'. 
THE REST OF THE STORY
#5 Dalton State (Ga.) improves to (2-0-0 overall) with the win, while Brescia (Ky.) falls to (0-1-0 overall). Six Roadrunners scored on the night with Kazuma Ishizuka assisting on two goals.
 
DS outshot BU by an astounding 37 shots (40-3). Twenty of the 40 for Dalton State were on goal.
 
UP NEXT
The Dalton Classic continues Saturday, August 24 when the #5 Birds take on Columbia International (S.C.). Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
