#5 Roadrunners Defeat Reinhardt (Ga.) In Delayed Season Opener


DALTON, Ga. – #5 Dalton State had to wait out the weather but the wait was worth it as the Roadrunners collected a 1-0 season opening victory over Reinhardt (Ga.) at Dalton Stadium on Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF
  • (1-0 DS) DS: Leonardo Seixas had a nice welcome back to the squad as the scored the first goal of the season on a penalty kick in the 5' that proved to be the difference in the match.
SECOND HALF

THE REST OF THE STORY
#5 Dalton State (Ga.) goes to (1-0-0 overall) with the win, while Reinhardt (Ga.) falls to (0-1-0 overall). Dalton State held an 18-4 advantage in total shots and 9-3 in shots on goal.
 
The Dalton State defense was stout not allowing a shot until the 82'. Leonardo Seixas gets the only goal of the match, with new goalkeeper Nicolas Leite getting three saves between the pipes.
 
UP NEXT
The #5 Roadrunners will be back at home on August 22 when they host the Dalton Classic facing off against Brescia (Ky.). Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
