DALTON, Ga. –#5 Dalton State mounted a charge in the second round after a slow start to the day and looked primed for a stout final day, but Mother Nature had other plans as the 3rd round was canceled due to unplayable conditions giving the Lady Roadrunners a 3rd place finish in the Roadrunner Invitational at Nob North Golf Course in Dalton on Monday and Tuesday.

#4 SCAD-Savannah (Ga.) took the tournament win with a two-round total of 590 (+14). First-round leader #10 Truett-McConnell (Ga.) (593, +17) fell to 2nd after a tough finish to Round 2. #5 Dalton State (Ga.) (595, +19) rallied back in Round 2 and finished 3rd. There was a considerable gap between 3rd and 4th with #14 Ottawa (Ariz.) 26 shots back at 621 (+45). #11 SCAD-Atlanta (Ga.) was one-stroke back of Ottawa at 622 (+46).

QUOTES FROM COACH
Comments From Coach Jim McGrew:
"Extremely disappointed that we did not get a chance to play the last round. We are an outdoor sport, and that is part of it, but that is two tournaments in a row now that we haven't finished."

"Proud of how we played the first day. They got off to a slow start like we do but played great in the last round, with all players playing well. Should be a great confidence boost heading into the postseason."
