MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The SSAC announced the 2024 Barnes & Noble College Women's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete Team and Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Dalton State's Giselle Dominguez was named Barnes & Noble College Women's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The senior mathematics major and secondary education minor has a 3.66 GPA. On the course, she finished 3rd at the SSAC Championship with a time of 23:06 to earn All-Conference honors and a bid to the 2024 NAIA National Championship.

Additional Notes
· To be eligible, student-athletes must be a sophomore or above in both academic and athletic standing, must be starters or important reserves, have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA and have competed in 50% of competitions
· Graduate students are not eligible, and transfers must have completed one year at the school
· Mobile's Claire Atkins leads with a 4.0 GPA, while Blue Mountain Christian's Aubrey Britt and Katie Meeks boast 3.95 and 3.90 marks
· Dominguez, Emma Vizina, Kayley Burgess, Harley Garner and Britt earned All-Conference honors. Dominguez and Vizina qualified for the NAIA National Championship
