12/11/2024 12:56:00 PM

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Georgetown (Ky.) sits atop the third NAIA Men's Basketball Coaches' Poll for the 2024-25 season with 17 first-place votes. College of Idaho climbed to second with one first-place vote, and Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) jumped three spots to round out the top three. Arizona Christian and LSU Alexandria (La.) round out the top five. Bethel (Ind.) jumped 12 spots, the largest climb this week as they are ranked 10th. Five new teams join the top 25 after either receiving votes or not being ranked in the last poll release; Ave Maria (Fla.), Pikeville (Ky.), Keiser (Fla.), Rio Grande (Ohio), and Graceland (Iowa).

By The Numbers
This is the 93rd NAIA Top 25 Coaches Poll to be released since the men's basketball program has been eligible for national rankings. They have been ranked or received votes in 50 of the 93, with a top ranking of #1 on two occasions. The most recent coming on October 27, 2015.

Poll Methodology:
  • The NAIA Men's Basketball Poll is for publicity purposes only and has no weight or bearing in the selection process for national championship field consideration
  • The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)
  • The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second place, and so on through the list
  • The highest and lowest vote for each team (a non-vote is considered a low vote) is removed
  • Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered "receiving votes"
  • Frequency of polls occur bi-weekly
  • Records listed are as of the end of the day on Monday of the poll week
