#2 Roadrunners Roll To Another Big Win

DALTON, GA. – The #2-ranked Dalton State Roadrunners collected their 2nd conference win of the week with another dominating performance on Sunday afternoon, beating Middle Georgia State 5-0, scoring 4 of 5 goals in the 2nd portion of play. The win extends the Birds' winning streak against the Knights to 11, moving the record against the SSAC opponent to (11-1) all-time.

HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF
  • (1-0) DS: The Birds got things going in the 25' following a deflected corner kick, found by Jurgen Ramirez, teaming up with Josh Ramos to find Zachary Perry, who precisely placed it into the top left corner of the net.
SECOND HALF
  • (2-0) DS: In the 52', the Roadrunners were granted a corner kick, giving Rasmus Andersson the opportunity that led to a beautiful header by Gavin Taylor to extend the lead.
  • (3-0) DS: Like the previous match, DS started scoring in bunches. Just 6 minutes later in the 58', Dalton State increased the deficit thanks to a long pass sent downfield by Guilherme Franca, leaving Jack Stainrod open grass and plenty of room to score his 1st notch of the competition.
  • (4-0) DS: With less than 10 minutes to play in the 80', the Birds were given a free kick after a Knight foul, setting up another Jurgen Ramirez assist that grazed the top of the defenders and Kazuma Ishizuka sending it past the goalie.
  • (5-0) DS: Less than a minute later in 81' Jack Stainrod cemented the final score with his 2nd tally of the afternoon and team-leading 16th point of the season.
