#2 Birds Stay Unbeaten With Win Over NightHawks


THOMASVILLE, Ga. – #2 Dalton State hit the road for the first time in over a month with two big conference matches on the horizon and notched a dub in their first contest with a 3-0 shutout win over Thomas (Ga.) at TU Soccer Complex in Thomasville on Thursday afternoon.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

SECOND HALF
  • (1-0 DS) DS: It took until the 69' but Dalton State finally got on the board as a foul correlated into a penalty kick that Matheus Fineto Gamileira converted for the lead.
  • (2-0 DS) DS: Josh Ramos tallied another assist as he has become a wizard at setting up his teammates this season with Jimson St. Louis finishing off the goal in the 83'.
  • (3-0 DS) DS: Jack Brown recorded his 4th score of the season, putting the match out of reach in the 89'.
THE REST OF THE STORY
#2 Dalton State (Ga.) improves to (6-0-3 overall, 3-0-1 SSAC) with the win, while (RV) Thomas (Ga.) falls to (3-3-2 overall, 0-2-1 SSAC) with the loss. The defense was stout against a squad that was coming off a 2-2 tie against a nationally ranked-Florida National team holding the NightHawks to 2 total shots with zero coming on goal.

#2-ranked Dalton State continues its road swing with a tough matchup against a surprising (RV) Faulkner (Ala.) squad at Billy D. Hilyer Stadium in Montgomery, Ala. Kick-Off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. (CT).
