Lady Roadrunners Solidify Winning Record With Victory At Blue Mountain Christian


BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – The Lady Roadrunners got a big game from Ria Cox as she accounted for 3 total points in Dalton State's 2-0 road win over Blue Mountain Christian (Miss.) in the regular season finale for both squads on Saturday afternoon.
 
 HOW IT HAPPENED
 FIRST HALF 
  • (1-0 DS) DS: Ava Vandoren got the Lady Birds on the board in the 7' when she collaborated with Ria Cox for a 1-0 lead.
  • (2-0 DS) DS: Cox did it alone for the second goal in the 14' to give DS the gap they needed to close the match out.
SECOND HALF

THE REST OF THE STORY
Dalton State (Ga.) improves their record to (9-5-1 overall, 6-4 SSAC) with the win, as Blue Mountain Christian (Miss.) drops to (5-11-1 overall, 3-7 SSAC) with the loss. Ria Cox and Ava Vandoren scored for the Lady Birds. The score from Vandoren ties her for the team lead with Lauren Wright at 6.
 
Cox scored her 4th goal of the year and added her 2nd assist on Vandoren's score. Brooke Alvarez collected a 4-save clean sheet and the win in net.
 
UP NEXT
The Lady Roadrunners, as the 5-seed in the SSAC Tournament, will travel to Thomasville on Friday, November 3, for an afternoon match with 4-seed Thomas (Ga.). Kick-Off is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
