#3 Roadrunners Slide Past (RV) Faulkner (Ala.)


MONTGOMERY, Ala. – #3 Dalton State got a Jack Stainrod goal just before the half and held (RV) Faulkner (Ala.) scoreless the rest of the way as the Roadrunners collected a 1-0 road victory in a makeup match originally scheduled for September 30 against the Eagles.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF
  • (1-0 DS) DS: Kazuma Ishizuka came off the bench in the 38' and made an instant impact finding Jack Stainrod for the deciding goal of the match in the 39'.
SECOND HALF

#3 Dalton State (Ga.) improves to (10-1-3 overall, 7-1-1 SSAC) with the win, while (RV) Faulkner (Ala.) drops to (11-3-1 overall, 6-3-0 SSAC) with the loss. The Faulkner attack had their chances, but the Dalton State defense came up big, led by goalkeeper Michael Barrueta with 4 saves.
 
The shot total was in favor of DS 14-10 and 7-4 on frame. The Roadrunners had a few that got past the Eagle goalkeeper but hit a post or the crossbar.
 
UP NEXT
#3-ranked Dalton State will close out regular season play on the road against Blue Mountain Christian (Miss.) on Saturday, October 28. Kick-Off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. (CT).
