WAVERLY, Ga. – Opportunities for scoring were plentiful in the seasoning opening Coastal Georgia Fall Invitational. The #2 Roadrunners were one of those teams capitalizing on great scoring conditions shooting two of their three team rounds under par, but it was wasn't enough in the end as they would fall two strokes short of victory at Sanctuary Cove Golf Club in Waverly on Monday and Tuesday.
 
#12 Southeastern (Fla.) shot 846 (-18) to take the win with #22 Truett-McConnell (Ga.) taking second at 847 (-17). #2 Dalton State (Ga.) finished 3^rd at 848 (-16). In 4^th was #5 USC-Beaufort at 852 (-12), with tournament host and #7 Coastal Georgia (853, -11) rounding out the top-5.

RECAP
Cole Wentworth paced the Roadrunners with a top-5 finish with rounds of 69-71-68 to finish in 5^th at 208 (-8). Steve Kibare made it two Birds in the top-10 with rounds of 73-67-70 (210) to finish at 6-under and tied for 8^th.
 
Davison Reynolds made an impressive showing carding an even-par tournament with rounds of 73-72-71 (216) to come home tied for 23^rd.  Trevor Bassett and Tucker Windham finished tied for 26^th at 1-over, 217. Bassett shot rounds of 74-71-72 with Windham posting 71-73-73.
 
Gavin Noble and Jarod Edwards played as individuals with Noble notching a top-15 in his first event as a Roadrunner and Edwards getting a top-20. Noble finished in a tie for 13^th at 3-under, 213 with rounds of 70-72-71, with Edwards firing 68-72-74 and finishing a solo 18^th at 2-under, 214.

It will be two weeks off for the #2-ranked Roadrunners before they travel to Florida and Innisbrook Resort to host the Invite at Innisbrook on September 26 & 27.
