Dalton State Drops Conference Clash With William Carey (Miss.)


HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Birds held tough but three-straight away games finally caught up with the Roadrunners in a 71-62 defeat at the hands of William Carey (Miss.) in SSAC action at Clinton Gym in Hattiesburg, Miss. on Saturday.
 
Donavan Miller and Rodley Adjei led Dalton State with 16 and 14 points respectively. Miller added 5 dimes as the two also combined for 9 boards. Franklin Almonte had a solid 7-point, 7 rebound line for the Birds.
 
Jvari Thigpen had the game of a lifetime for the Crusaders going for 36 points and 6 rebounds. He was the only Crusader in double-figures and 16-of-18 from the free throw line.
 
Dalton State have one more road game before closing out the season at home. They play Middle Georgia next on Tuesday, February 15 in Cochran before hosting the Knights two days later at Mashburn Arena on Thursday, February 17. They finish the regular season on Saturday, February 19 against Brewton-Parker.
