#22 Milligan (Tenn.) Wins Ranked Matchup Over #11 Dalton State


MILLIGAN COLLEGE, (Tenn.) – #11 Dalton State came out on the wrong end of a ranked matchup as the #22 Milligan (Tenn.) used a three-goal first half to race past the Birds 3-1 in non-conference soccer action at Anglin Soccer Field in Milligan College, Tenn. on Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF
  • (1-0 MU) MU: Elies Sebbouh got the first goal of the match on an assist from Inaki Moreno in the 5'.
  • (2-0 MU) MU: Elies Simo and Raphael Sefriou joined on a goal in the 20'.
  • (3-0 MU) MU: Charlie Betts scored on an assist for Victor Castel in the 25'
SECOND HALF
  • (3-1 MU) DS: Zachary Perry scored unassisted in the 85' to erase the goose egg for the Birds.
THE REST OF THE STORY
#11 Dalton State (Ga.) falls to 2-2 overall with the loss, while #22 Milligan (Tenn.) improves to 3-0 overall with the win. Zachary Perry picked up the lone goal for the Roadrunners.
 
The Roadrunners held the advantage in shots at 9-6 overall and 6-3 on frame. The Buffaloes were very efficient, scoring on all three shots on goal.

UP NEXT
#11-ranked Dalton State will be back in action on Wednesday, September 8 when they take on Bryan (Tenn.). Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Lakeshore Park.
