Lady Birds Get First Ever Win Over Mobile (Ala.)


MOBILE, Ala. – The Lady Roadrunners did something they had never done before on Thursday evening as they convincingly defeated Mobile (Ala.) 4-0 on opening night of SSAC play at The Jungle in Mobile for their first win over the Lady Rams in program history.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF SECOND HALF
  • (3-0 DS) DS: Molly Duncan got her name called for a goal in the 48' to extend the lead to three.
  • (4-0 DS) DS: Megan Wilson polished off the W with a goal in the 88'.
THE REST OF THE STORY
Dalton State (Ga.) improves to (4-5 overall, 1-0 SSAC) with the win, while Mobile (Ala.) falls to (0-7-1 overall, 0-1 SSAC) with the loss. Brianna Smotherman, Molly Duncan, and Megan Wilson all scored for the Lady Roadrunners in the match.
 
Mobile outshot Dalton State overall 16-13 with 13 of those coming in the second half. The Lady Roadrunners held the advantage on frame at 7-3. Brooke Alvarez added 3 saves in net while recording the shoutout.
