#11 Roadrunners Lose First Regular Season Contest Since 2019 with 1-0 Loss To Tennessee Wesleyan


ATHENS, Tenn. – #11 Dalton State suffered their first regular season loss since October 31, 2019 with a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Tennessee Wesleyan at TWU Athletics Complex in Athens, Tenn. on Tuesday.

THE REST OF THE STORY
Dalton State (Ga.) falls to 1-1 overall with the loss, while Tennessee Wesleyan improves to 1-1 overall with the win. Michael Barrueta played great in goal with 2 saves while the defense only allowed 3 shots on goal.
 
Tennessee Wesleyan held the advantage in overall shots at 9-8, but Dalton State put more on frame at a 4-3 advantage. The Roadrunners also had a decisive advantage in corner kicks at 5-1.

The #11-ranked Roadrunners will travel to Pulaski, Tenn. to take on UT Southern, formally Martin Methodist (Tenn.), on August 28. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. (CT). They will be back at Lakeshore Park on August 31 to take on Point (Ga.).
