Lady Roadrunners Suffer Road Loss At Middle Georgia


MACON, Ga. – The Dalton State Women's Soccer team dropped their 4th straight match with a 3-0 road loss to Middle Georgia SSAC play at NeSmith Field in Macon on Thursday evening.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF
  • (1-0 MGA) MGA: Middle Georgia wasted little time as Miagh Downey got the first goal of the match in just under a minute for a 1-0 lead for the Lady Knights.
SECOND HALF
  • (2-0 MGA) MGA: Vivien Grosser extended the Middle Georgia lead to 2 in the 75'
  • (3-0 MGA) MGA: Downey scored goal #2 in the 79' on an assist from Hannah Theriault.
THE REST OF THE STORY
Dalton State (Ga.) falls to 4-7 overall (1-3 SSAC) with the loss, while Middle Georgia improves to 5-3-1 overall (3-2 SSAC) with the win. Brooke Alvarez was once again tough in goal getting 3 saves on 6 shots faced.
 
BY THE NUMBERS
Selina Vazquez was the only Lady Roadrunner with a shot on the stat line as MGA outshot the Lady Birds 9-1 overall and 6-0 on goal.

The Lady Roadrunners will have another stiff test in 1 weeks-time when they welcome #1 William Carey (Miss.) to Dalton. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. at Lakeshore Park.
