#1 William Carey Too Much For Lady Roadrunners


DALTON, Ga. – #1 William Carey (Miss.) was too much for Dalton State as the Lady Saders defeated the Lady Roadrunners 5-0 in SSAC play at Lakeshore Park in Dalton on Thursday evening.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF
  • (1-0 WC) WC: Maria Corral Pinon got the Lady Saders on the board first with a goal in the 4'.
  • (2-0 WC) WC: Adrijane Felix made 2-0 in the 18' with a strike to the back of the net.
  • (3-0 WC) WC: Ana Paula Santos scored the 1st of 2 goals on the day with a one timer in the 34'.
  • (4-0 WC) WC: Santos found Gabby Vincent in front of the net just 3 minutes later in the 37' for a 4-goal Carey lead.
 
SECOND HALF
  • (5-0 WC) WC: Santos's 2nd goal came right after halftime as she made it 5-0 in the 45'.
 
THE REST OF THE STORY
Dalton State (Ga.) falls to 4-8 overall (1-4 SSAC) with the loss, while #1 William Carey (Miss.) improves to 11-0-1 overall (4-0 SSAC) with the win. Ana Paula Santos collected 5 points (2 goals, 1 assist) for the Lady Saders. Brooke Alvarez faced a barrage of shots from William Carey and saved 14.
