Roadrunners Stay Unbeaten With 3-0 Win Over Florida College


TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. – Three players scored for Dalton State as the Roadrunners kept it rolling, staying unbeaten with a 3-0 win over Florida College in SSAC action at Qualls Field in Temple Terrace, Fla. on Thursday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF
  • (1-0 DS) DS: Zachary Perry got to work in the 24' batting in a loose ball in front of the net for the 1st score of the match.
  • (2-0 DS) DS: The Roadrunners quickly assumed possession after the kickoff and raced down the pitch where a rebounded ball found Guilherme Franca who booted it in for a 2-goal lead.
  • (3-0 DS) DS: Justin Riescher put the lead at 3 goals right before the half when he found the back of the net.
SECOND HALF

THE REST OF THE STORY
Dalton State (Ga.) improves to 5-0-1 overall (1-0 SSAC) with the win, while Florida College falls to 5-3 overall (0-1 SSAC) with the loss. Zachary Perry notched his first goal of the season as Franca (2) and Riescher (9) added to their totals.
 
Riescher currently leads the SSAC in goals scored. Kieran Hodges made it 2-for-2 in clean sheets with another shutout.
 
BY THE NUMBERS
Even with the 3 goals it was a defensive affair. Dalton State had 6 shots, all on goal and all in the first half. Florida College had 3 total shots with 2 coming on point. The Falcons outshot the Roadrunners 2-0 in the second half.
