Riescher Brothers Do It All In 5-0 Win For #16 Dalton State


DALTON, Ga. – The Riescher's did all the scoring for #16 Dalton State as the Roadrunners defeated Blue Mountain (Miss.) 5-0 in Southern States Athletic Conference soccer action at Lakeshore Park in Dalton on Thursday night.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF
  • (1-0 DS) DS: Justin Riescher score his first goal of the night unassisted in the 31'.
  • (2-0 DS) DS: Zachary Perry found Riescher for the second goal of the night on a gorgeous backward flip pass in the 36'.
SECOND HALF
  • (3-0 DS) DS: A barrage of goals started in the 79' when Riescher converted a PK for the hat trick.
  • (4-0 DS) DS: An own goal off a corner kick in the 82' made it 4-0.
  • (5-0 DS) DS: Another corner kick was responsible for the final goal later in the 82' as the ball bounced around but off the boot of Jack Riescher.
THE REST OF THE STORY
#16-ranked Dalton State (Ga.) improves to (4-3-1 overall, 1-1 SSAC) with the win, while Blue Mountain (Miss.) falls to (6-5 overall, 1-2 SSAC) with the loss. It was three more goals for Justin Riescher whose season goal total now stands at seven on the year. Brother Jack got in on the action with a goal of his own.

#16 Dalton State will be back on the pitch at Lakeshore Park on Saturday, October 9 when they take on Talladega (Ala.). Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
