#13 Roadrunners Get Hard Fought Road Win At Faulkner (Ala.)


MONTGOMERY, Ala. – #13 Dalton State kept their chances for a first round bye in the SSAC Tournament alive with a 1-0 win over Faulkner (Ala.) at Billy D. Hilyer Stadium in Montgomery, Ala. on Thursday.

  • (1-0 DS) DS: Justin Riescher once again proved why he is one of the best players in the country with a goal in the 80' when Jurgen Ramirez found him to break a 0-0 deadlock.
THE REST OF THE STORY
#13 Dalton State (Ga.) improves to (11-3-1 overall, 5-1 SSAC) with the win, while Faulkner (Ala.) falls to (4-10 overall, 3-4 SSAC) with the loss. Riescher hit the 30-point mark for the second straight season with his 14 goal. Jurgen Ramirez picked up assist number four on the goal.
 
It was a stout night defensively for the Birds who held the Eagles to just three shots overall with none coming on goal. DS had 12 shots overall with half of those coming on frame.

UP NEXT
The #13-ranked Roadrunners will stay on the road and head to Hattiesburg, Miss. for a makeup match with #11 William Carey (Miss.) on Saturday, October 30. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. (CT).
