Lady Roadrunners Drop 5-0 Decision To Visiting Life


DALTON, Ga. – The Lady Roadrunners dropped their first match of the season with a 5-0 loss to Life (Ga.) in non-conference action at Lakeshore Park Soccer Complex on Friday evening.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF
  • (1-0) LU: It was an early goal in the 8' off the boot of Sarah Singluff to give the Running Eagles the lead.
 
SECOND HALF
  • (2-0) LU: Singluff wasn't finished as capitalized on the offensive pressure at kickoff to extend the lead to two goals in the 47'.
  • (3-0) LU: Singluff hit the hat trick in the 67' on an assist from Daniela Chiancin.
  • (4-0) LU: Hollie Johnston extended the lead further in the 85'
  • (5-0) LU: Alexandra Collighan ended scoring for the evening with a goal in the 87'.
 
THE REST OF THE STORY
Dalton State falls to (1-1 overall) with the loss, while Life (Ga.) improves to (3-0 overall) with the win.
The Running Eagles outshot the Lady Roadrunners 14-4 including a 10-2 clip on goal. Mattie Dollar and Brooke Alvarez combined for 5 saves in net.
 
UP NEXT
The Lady Roadrunners will be in action again on Saturday, November 7 when they will be the first game of a doubleheader with the men's team as both squads take on Martin Methodist (Tenn.). Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
