Lady Birds Drop Regular Season Finale To Brewton-Parker


MOUNT VERNON, Ga.  – The Dalton State Women's Soccer team concluded the regular season with a 1-0 road defeat to Brewton-Parker (Ga.) in Mount Vernon on Tuesday afternoon.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • (1-0 BP): Kadisha Martina for the Lady Barons received a ball from Mackenzie Stewart and put the game winning goal home in the 85'.
 
THE REST OF THE STORY
Dalton State (Ga.) falls to (6-10 overall, 2-6 SSAC) with the loss, while Brewton-Parker (Ga.) improves to (6-11-1 overall, 1-5-1 SSAC) with the win. Cynthia Coronel and Keyle Snyder tied for the team lead in shots on goal with three each. Alyssa Bilbrey and Sarah Chamale both recorded two, while Mattie Dollar notched three saves and gave up only one goal.
 
Kadisha Martina was the only source of offense for the Lady Barons taking three of the four shots on goal and recording the only goal of the match. Mackenzie Stewart notched the assist on the scoring play. Maygen La played an incredible match in goal with 10 saves and a clean sheet.
 
UP NEXT
The Lady Roadrunners will be the #6-seed in the SSAC Tournament and will travel to Bethel (Tenn.) for a quarterfinal matchup.
